Fungallid (Wyrms of Nyrus)

"A fungus among us. A terror unit of the Hive of The Blight."

Fungallids are wyrms in Wyrms of Nyrus. They specialize in the long-distance spread of Hive Creep.

Appearance

Fungallids are in the Hive of the Blight, and thus have purple shells and orange underbellies. They have two long hind legs, a short tail, and four tiny arms between their legs. They have long necks, which lead to a fully-shelled head with 6 eyes and 3 fangs.

Fungallids can often be heard from a distance and recognized by their unique screeches.

Spawning

Fungallids appear from Creep Pods in phase 2 of the Invasion.

Behavior

Fungallids tend to roam around, and sprint when they find a target. They will target just about anything that isn't on the wyrms' side.

Abilities

Fungallids are the only wyrms capable of converting their kills into Creeped, and feature a screech attack, which can redirect mobs and animals to attack the entity the wyrm screeched at, even if they don't normally attack that entity. For example, screeches can cause a horde of zombies to turn against one of their own.

As they run around, they may occasionally creep a few blocks around them, which can start an outbreak of the Creeped Lands.
