Dobbers (Wyrms of Nyrus)

Dobbers are a swarm-type wyrm in Wyrms of Nyrus.

Dobbers are not a canonical caste to the Nyral Wyrms species. They were officially removed in v0.2.3

Abilities

Dobbers have no special abilities, but that doesn't make them easy to dispatch. Combined with the Probers that come out of the landing pod, the swarm can easily overwhelm a player.

Dobbers have the smallest explosion radius of any wyrm in the mod. It is safe to light them on fire to mass-exterminate. Usually, only one explosion is required to kill a dobber swarm thanks to their low HP.

Behavior

Dobbers have a swarm mentality and will try to stay in groups. However, it is not uncommon to see them wander off.

Reason for removal

Dobbers were deemed unnecessary and spammed entity counts with weak mobs that didn't despawn, which would prevent new animals and monsters spawning, which ultimately hurt Probers in the long run. Along with their removal, more space was freed up for new and better mobs.

Dobbers were additionally unpopular with the community, and were unanimously voted for removal due to not adding much into the game.
